THE HISTORY

History

This special living space was built by Yomed Tulku or Spiti Tulku Rimpoche, a Nyingma lama based in the Spiti valley history.

He built the home on land sanctified by his guru and on the basis of the ancient rites of Tibetan Buddhism. Thus creating a space energised and blessed by the positive and conducive to meditation and history. This was a centre of higher learning for chosen monks.

He lived here and the centre ran for about 4 years before he moved back to Spiti to continue the developmental work that has been part of the resurgence of the monasteries and nunneries of the area, along with a conscious push toward sustainable development. Allowing for the growth of the local people with the preservation of a valley of exceptional beauty and a fragile eco system.

Thus we aim to create here a space of conscious living. Maintaining the energy and preserving it for those who will understand, enjoy and benefit from being here.
